We want to help parents support their baby or toddler with suitable ideas in everyday life. Playtime pairs activities with short videos that show you how.
Playtime is called Spielzeit in German: the same app, made by the same team.
How we create our activities
When developing the activities, we drew on recommendations from American pediatricians. Practical experience in kindergarten education also informed their design.
Our aim is to offer clear, practical ideas that help parents see what they can try together with their child. Every family and every child starts from a different place.
How we write our guides
The Playtime editorial team explains the general foundations of child development through understandable everyday situations. Sources sit alongside the relevant sections so you can check the information and explore it further.
Our public information sources include the Bundesinstitut für Öffentliche Gesundheit and parent information from the American Academy of Pediatrics. These organizations neither provide nor review Playtime.
What matters to us when supporting development
We follow the child’s interests, abilities and well-being. Ages help with choosing ideas, but they are not fixed deadlines. Development also involves repetition, personal attempts and rest breaks.
Playtime offers ideas for everyday life. If you have questions or concerns about development, your pediatrician can help with an individual assessment.
